Hands On Sentence Building

My little readers are coming along quite nicely now - I love this time of year because even the reluctant readers often seem to just take off.
Here's a few picture ideas to show you what we've been working on. I love to see their confidence soar! And funny fingers always help, too.

Each morning we practice building sentences. Here are a few of the things we did this week.

Sentence Puzzles

Sentence Sliders

Sentence Cubes

Sentence Spinners

  3. Susanna, I LOVE your sentences ideas. Your kids are writing so beautifully- and no wonder! Your bees are too precious. I want to be able to pick a favorite, but I just can't even do it. I love that little queen- and the little guy with the stinger, but then the one sitting with his little legs out to the sides just makes me smile- and the realistic ones are just perfect. So...Wouldn't I be a reallllly bad judge for picking a winner or anything?!

  4. Neat sentence idea! Do the words wipe off of the unifix cubes easily? I'm thinking that a white sponge would work? The fish are beautiful and I love the hanging blue paper strips for water. Clever!
