I'm always looking for fun and easy crafts at Christmas. This is one of my all time favorites; I save it for when we're all tired and we've run out of glitter!
There's no mess - but have lots of supplies because students will want to make several of these.
Here's a quick tutorial:
2. Wrap in tin foil, securing with tape on the back.
3. Use a DULL pencil to draw, making impressions into the tin foil. This one is a snowflake, but it could be anything.
That's it! My students loved the slippery feeling of drawing, and the way light is reflected.
When done, you can:
-hole punch and hang with ribbon on the tree
-add felt pen for shimmery color
-try different designs, student names, different sizes and shapes
-make them into gifts; have students write Mom, Dad or Grandma on them for a nice keepsake.
My only warning before trying this is to make sure the pencils are dull enough so that they don't rip the tin foil. My firsties got the hang of it right away with no trouble.
These look really neat. you could also use boxes that people usually throw away from the mail. Thanks for sharing!!

OH my goodness, I just love this! Wow- do I need you to come draw for me. I am trying to make this poster board size polar bear blowing a bubble wand with snowflakes coming out- and he looks like a big, white rat. Not kidding. HA! I thought of you all day. :)
