Chinese New Year Dragon

Chinese New Year came early this year, and we celebrated with a Chinese Dragon parade! This dragon marched through all the classrooms with drums and chanting "Gung Hay Fat Choy!"

The head is made from a cardboard box. The body is simply a long red piece of material. It's been covered with all kinds of glitter, tin foil, colored paper and sequins. This was a wonderful open-ended group art project in itself!

  4. You SERIOUSLY do the coolest things in your classroom. I love it! AND- your fairy tale sets are so great. One of our guided reading books the other day was The Three Little Pigs, and I couldn't believe the number of kids who hadn't heard it. It was sad to me. :( So, you are keeping them alive! YAY!
